Ruin for Disney Sci-Fi Actor

Looper, seemingly independently of the actor in question, report that Disney's flop John Carter ruined star Taylor Kitsch's then blooming career.

Probaby an accurate claim.

Films are the culmination of often years of planning, writing, filming and post production but viewers only see the actors and tend to associate excellence or lack thereof with them, the franchise or maybe studio.

Stars of flops often fade away into obscurity.

Wonder Woman 1984

Wonder Woman 1984 is now available on Netflix and Binge.

It had previously been available as a rent or buy title on several digital services.

While not as good (critics 59%, audience 73%) as the earlier film (critics 93%, audience 84%), it's still moderately enjoyable.

As with Justice League, 1984 is hampered by DC's poor attempt to capitalise on 80s nostalgia.

Doctor Who S13 Teaser

Over the weekend the BBC played an ultra short teaser clip for season 13.

There's nothing new to see in it but this is likely the BBC warming up for release.

Already confirmed for a UK 2021 release there's not much time left anyway but we're still without a date.

There has been no official word for Australia but we would expect a near simultaneous release here.

The Nevers Bonus Clip

CBR have published an exclusive The Nevers bonus clip and article to "explain the intentions of the mysterious extraterrestrial Galanthi."

The fact that they're trying to explain this after the first season has finished demonstrates how flawed the show is.

And the explanation isn't shedding light on unrevealed intentions. The explanation is, "Nah, mate, they're all good. Trust them."

If so that could and should have been demonstrated beyond any doubt in the first season.

The Boys Spinoff

Two new developments have been reported by SYFY Wire about The Boys spinoff.

It will release through Amazon Prime and has new showrunners, Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters.

Fazekas and Butters have a history of producing great TV, eg. Reaper, Agent Carter, Kevin (Probably) Saves the World.

None of their shows have survived past a second season but were all very niche concept programs, and typically competing for ratings on mainstream US Network, ABC.
