While it's a bit of real sci-fi news blackhole so far this week - it just doesn't make sense to compete for attention with the likes of Star Wars (May the 4th celebration) and Marvel (Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness cinema release) - Star Trek have thrown their hat into the ring and aren't giving up easily.

The 4th is With Us

This being May the 4th (as in, may the force with you), the Star Wars folk have dropped another trailer for upcoming series Obi-Wan Kenobi and also two character pack DLCs for recently released LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.

The trailer is fine as trailers go but unlike their March teaser fails to evoke the Star Wars spirit.

Most would regard this novel as fantasy - Hugos cover both science-fiction and fantasy - but this an Australian author and their interview touches on a broader entertainment issue.

Dichen Lachman Interview

The Guardian have published a short interview with Australian actress Dichen Lachman, whose sci-fi credentials include DollhouseAgents of S.H.I.E.L.D, The 100 and most recently, Apple's widely acclaimed Severance.

Fair warning - the interview is a little bit spoilerish for Severance.

Netflix Cancellations

Netflix have cancelled Space Force after two seasons.

We weren't a fan. The nicest thing we could say about it was that a sci-fi show making a second season is a rare thing.

While we haven't been impressed by all of the teasers, the title sequence is nicely done.
