Dolly Parton has expressed honour to have been on The Orville following her appearance in its most recent episode Midnight Blue.

In The Orville's simulator as a simulacrum of her good self.

What an honor to be on @TheOrville with @SethMacFarlane and @RenaOwen. I might be as old as yesterday, but with all this new technology they make me look as new as tomorrow! I really hope the fans enjoy it as much as I enjoyed being a part of it.

Having just freshly watched the episode before beginning work this morning, this was a lovely find.

It's another great episode and after hearing Dolly's 9 to 5 in season two maybe we should have expected her to make a guest appearance eventually.

Was she this season's big cameo?

No their teased big cameo was specifically sci-fi.

Jon Cassar : We do have one big cameo from a big sci-fi franchise.

Unless we've missed someone - it's not always easy to recognise big names under alien prosthetics - that must still be coming.

Babylon 5's Bruce Boxleitner as Union President Alcuzan had already been revealed.

Checking guest stars in Wikipedia it doesn't look like we've missed any.

The Orville: New Horizons (aka season 3) is on SBS on Demand with just two episodes remaining.

The Orville's first two seasons are available on both SBS on Demand and Disney+.

No official word yet on a possible fourth season.
