We now have the character trailer for Red Hood in upcoming action roleplaying game Gotham Knights.

Bit on the fence about this character.

Our being more inclined to ranged than melee combat and Red Hood being the only character on offer with that focus, he is theoretically up our alley.

Fans have expressed concern about his use of magic in this game because that's something new added by the game developers.

Having no familiarity with this character that doesn't bother us but this would be quite a significant addition for any character.

As seen in this trailer, his combat appears to be perfectly mundane most of the time - shooting, kicking, punching etc. - but his travel ability and some of his other attacks are all mystical and green swirly.

Not sure it feels as cohesive as the other characters.

But we'll reserve judgement until we see more gameplay.

And he does have some nice suits.

Even on the official website in his description there's no mention of the mystical stuff:

Jason has trained to reach the peak of human strength, and he’s proficient in multiple combat techniques with all manner of weapons—both traditional and high-tech.

Is this an outdated description from an earlier point in development or are they not fully convinced of and committed to the mystical side of this character?

Gotham Knights releases on PC, Xbox and PlayStation on October 25.
