Horizon's Call
Posted By:

PlayStation's stable of games in the robo-dinosaur action roleplaying Horizon franchise will expand on February 22 with the addition of their VR2 title Horizon Call of the Mountain.

Of course there is a trailer.

It feels like virtual reality technologies have been hovering on the fringes of game development forever.

Always very expensive and rarely living up to the promise of enhanced realism.

Titles like this may finally make good on that promise but the price is still substantial.

Pre-orders for the PlayStation VR2 are now open in Australia and one will set you back $880 (or $960 bundled with Horizon Call of the Mountain).

Plus you need a PlayStation 5 and the base model in Australia goes for $650.

Neither our personal nor business gaming budget could stretch to accommodate but it's still interesting to watch these advances in gaming technology from the side lines.

Also the relatively young and rapidly expanding Horizons franchise, which began with the 2017 PlayStation game (later ported to PC) and was joined by a sequel earlier this year.

Plus a Netflix series and possibly also an MMO (massively multiplayer online game) in development.

Horizon Call of the Mountain will release on PlayStation VR2 on February 22.
