Life on Regis III

At a time when many eyes would be on a cutting edge, potentially even redefining the genre horror game like The Callisto Protocol, it's charming to see some old school scare.

Which comes courtesy of Starward Industries in the faux documentary Life on Regis III to promote their upcoming retro futuristic adventure game The Invincible.

Perhaps also well timed on other fronts.

Atomic Heart by Russian developer Mundfish is another retro futuristic Soviet styled game.

Launching early next year (February 23), they're in full promotion mode right now and garnering widespread praise for its visuals.

Appreciate those - we do - but maybe want something not on Earth?

The Invincible has you covered.

It's also set in a world by Polish writer Stanislaw Lem and courtesy of recent excellent game and then series (Netflix) adaptations, Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski's The Witcher is kind of hot right now.

So there's potentially appetite for works based on Polish fiction and Starward Industries' CEO Marek Markuszewski formerly worked at CD Projekt Red and on The Witcher 3.

The Invincible is scheduled to release 2023 on PC, Xbox X|S and PlayStation 5.

We wouldn't be surprised to see it release in proximity to The Witcher's third season on Netflix which is expected in Winter (Oz).
