The Far Cry first person shooter franchise has just done something slightly unusual though not entirely out of character.
Far Cry 6 is set on a fictional Caribbean island and isn't sci-fi. But it's getting a very sci-fi DLC called Lost Between Worlds.
Alien.
Space ship.
Alternate realities.
Check, check, check.
Ultra sci-fi.
Not the first time the franchise has stepped outside of its standard real world setting.
Spinoff Primal is set in the Stone Age and New Dawn is a post apocalyptic entry set 17 years after one possible ending for Far Cry 5.
Sometimes it isn't easy to pin down a title or franchise's genre and in this case it might be best to think of it as genre-fluid
Far Cry 6: Lost Between Worlds launches on December 6 on PC (Epic), Xbox One and X|S, and Playstation 4 and 5 on December 6.
Ubisoft are also offering a free trial for the base game.
