Prodigy, our favourite of the current Star Trek's (the only one we watch) returns next week and unsurprisingly Paramount have released a teaser.

We were however taken totally by surprise by the preceding release of co-op action adventure platform game Star Trek Prodigy: Supernova.

Gaming is a huge industry and despite our best efforts, titles will occasionally slip by us.

Before today we'd seen no press for it and almost a week after release it only has 4 user reviews on Steam.

Suggesting it has slipped under everyone's radars and barely made an impact.

Interestingly it features voice-acting from the animated series cast - which is uncommon - though reviews outside of Star Trek fan sites award it a very modest 7 out of 10.

Its launch trailer shows relatively simplistic gameplay. Typical for a game pitched primarily at children.

Meanwhile the series isn't cutting its kids any slack, with the trailer featuring a Borg cube.

Taking it up back up to the franchise level, Star Trek will be honoured at this year's Outfest Legacy Awards with the Visionary Award on October 22.

Star Trek Prodigy: Supernova is available now on PC (Steam), Xbox One and X|S, PlayStation 4 and 5 and Nintendo Switch.

Star Trek: Prodigy returns following a mid-season break to Paramount Plus on October 27, and at a later presently unknown date on Binge.
