More Deliver Us Mars

Deliver Us Mars dropped a short one minute gameplay trailer during the June game trailer blitz.

Joining that now is a twelve minute video.

We singled this game out of the dozens of trailers we saw last month for special mention because it does look special.

After watching this trailer?

We're making one of those unhappy scrunched up faces.

A bit of commentary attached to what we're guessing was a puzzle with lining up the light beams probably would have been a good idea.

For context.

How would new players know to do that?

But more seriously there's all that wall climbing.

Some of the climbing sequences looked great, eg. onto the swinging wall.

The bulk looked like tedious filler and we skipped ahead repeatedly to spare ourselves.

Possibly all of that climbing will go over well with players but we wouldn't be surprised if some viewers go through this video to tally it up.

Then make unflattering remarks along the lines of this game being x% vertical crawling.

One positive is the organic, responsive dialog based on where your character is looking.

That mechanic isn't technologically astounding or impressive but looks like an effective device for immersive storytelling.

As opposed to dialog only triggering based on the typical reaching a certain location or clicking an object or character.

Deliver Us Mars is available to pre-order now on PC (Steam and Epic) Xbox and PlayStation, and will release on September 27.
