An upcoming indie space real time strategy game you might not be aware of is Nebulous: Fleet Command which is being developed by a Navy officer.
Graphically it looks dated compared to other 3D space titles but it is still in development and beneath the surface is an impressive depth of gameplay that could have great appeal to fans of shows like The Expanse.
What's missing? Stargate? Actually no, but they snuck in under the radar by not flaunting themselves at The Game Awards and instead just releasing a gameplay trailer and opening the Steam page for the upcoming Stargate: Timekeepers.

Bethesda's space roleplaying game Starfield now has a Steam page.
With almost a year to go until launch, that might not seem significant and even those eager to play it likely won't be excited by this. But it is noteworthy.

Myth of Empires? That sounds suspiciously like fantasy, right?
Yes. Nominally. But developers of dionsaur sci-fi survival game Ark: Survival Evolved, Studio Wildcard, have alleged that Myth is built on Ark's source code.

The Invincible has released a "first look" trailer via GamesRadar's YouTube channel and judging by the screen branding we would guess that they presented this during the Golden Joystick Awards.
We see a bit more than was shown in the teaser trailer, but this is another short video and it's still early days.
Doctor Who Edge of Reality has released another gamepaly trailer.
One of the developers involved in this had previously released a made for mobile game which appears to just be puzzles.
This one looks like an attempt to deliver something of a similar style but with a first person controllable character.
Doctor Who preferring to avoid violence as much as possible, it's surprising to see you take control of a Dalek at least for a time and are shooting things in this game.
Indie developer S2 Games has announced a new sci-fi survival sim with a YouTube trailer, Lost Away.
Visually it seems to draw inspiration from Avatar. The creature featured in the trailer sports Avatar like wavy tentacles, there's lots of night-time bioluminescence and a smattering of floating rocks.
The Steam Next Fest is live and will run until October 8 and allows access to 720 free demos, 122 of which are sci-fi. Additionally there are 95 total and 21 sci-fi demos for unreleased titles.
