Now the verdict is in. Bloomberg's Jason Schreier hails it a critical success but commercial flop and reports Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick pointing blame at timing.

Today launch trailers dropped for both titles (Darktide, Suns) so we'll play the comparison game again.

Firaxis have released both a combat overview trailer and a "Let's Go!" special message for their upcoming tactical roleplaying game Marvel's Midnight Suns.
From people who've been able to play it - which isn't us - there's a lot of love for the gameplay but not the story.

Fast approaching year's end, there aren't many more big game titles on the calendar.
Two of those, Warhammer 40K: Darktide and Marvel's Midnight Suns, we've only visited occasionally. Each for occupying different extremes of the promotion spectrum.

Coming out of Disney's D23 Expo alongside a possibly brought forward to this year "coming soon" announcement for Avatar: Reckoning, is a new trailer and a December release date for tactical card strategy roleplaying game Marvel's Midnight Suns.

Earlier that day we'd heaped praised on Indie superhero game Superfuse, said we were impressed by Gotham Knights but wasn't interested in Midnight Suns.
