A Pair of BAFTAs
Posted By:

While Everything Everywhere All at Once was tied second for number of nominations (10) at this year's British Academy Film Awards (BAFTAs), it won only Best Editing (Paul Rogers).

Science fiction's only other win came courtesy of Avatar: The Way of Water for Best Special Visual Effects (Richard Baneham, Daniel Barrett, Joe Letteri and Eric Saindon).

Following Best Actress wins at the Golden Globes and Critics Choice Awards for her performance in Tar, Cate Blanchett added a BAFTA to her collection.

"These remarkable performances break down the myth that women's experience is monolithic," she said in her acceptance speech.

Tar is not even remotely sci-fi but we'll next see Cate on the big screen in the film adaptation of sci-fi looter shooter Borderlands and we expect them to capitalize on her critical success with Tar in its marketing.

In which she will be joined by Jamie Lee Curtis who has received many nominations for her performance in Everything Everywhere All at Once.

Everything Everywhere All at Once is available to stream now on Binge and Prime.

Avatar: The Way of Water is in cinemas now.

There's no ETA on the Borderlands film but we are keeping an eye out for news on that front.
