Following exceptional performance at the Critics Choice Awards and Directors Guild Awards, but largely missing out at the Golden Globes and BAFTAs, Everything Everywhere All at Once dominated at the Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Winning four out of the five film categories.

  • Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role - Michelle Yeoh
  • Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role - Ke Huy Quan
  • Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role - Jamie Lee Curtis
  • Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture

Especially noteworthy are Michelle and Jamie's wins.

Michelle won the top prize at the Golden Globes which has a separate category for musical or comedy but has been beaten by local talent Cate Blanchett (Tar) in most of the major awards.

Jamie has been widely nominated for her performance in this film but this is her first big win.

Interestingly the next film we'll see both Cate Blanchett and Jamie Lee Curtis in will be the adapation of the sci-fi shooter Borderlands game.

Their now both having won major awards that will likely be capitalised upon in its promotion and also raise viewer expectations.

On the television side of the equation there was just the single sci-fi win for Stranger Things, Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Television Series.

Everything Everywhere All at Once is available to stream now on Binge and Prime.

Stranger Things can be found on Netflix.
