The Batman has released on HBO Max in the US - not available here - and they've released the opening scene on YouTube.
Our debilitating reboot exhaustion is particularly sore in the region of Batman so we're passing on this one but approve of the practice of releasing opening scenes as a potentially more transparent representation of a film than trailers.
There was more than one interesting development during our absence but when writing our catchup one was so substantial that we felt it warranted its own space.
Raw Fury announced a positively brilliant looking futuristic action roleplaying superhero game called Superfuse and offered a preview at the Game Developer Conference.
We now have the first teaser trailer for season 3 of The Boys and it's a shocker.
On first view it's non-stop action set to a snappy tune and the standout is what appears to be supe-hating Billy (Karl Urban) now with laser beam eye superpowers, but upon closer examination - much pausing - there's a lot more to this.
Because of competition for limited visual effects post-production capabilities in the post COVID revival, Warner Bros. have delayed several big DC titles.
Note that the dates below are for the US. New Australian release dates haven't been published yet but they're usually not far off US ones.

Sony have released what we would describe as a poorly described "lore vignette" for upcoming anti-hero vampire film, Morbius.

HBO's Peacemaker has been renewed for a second season and finished it's first on a true high with viewership up 44% from the premiere. It was also the best single day performance for any HBO Max original.
For anyone unfamiliar with typical viewer patterns, the norm is for significant drop off over the first few episodes - people checking out a new show and deciding it's not for them - then slow decline.
