EA Insults Singles

Electronic Arts make most of their money from live-service games, i.e. ones which require internet connectivity and players to log into a multiplayer server.

For the blessing of multiplayer - which isn't offered only by live-service games - many companies expect players to cough up extra money to buy digital products from their store.

Avatar Empire

In an exclusive with Empire Magazine, James Cameron has revealed details about two of Avatar 2's female cast with whom he has famously worked - Sigourney Weaver (Aliens) and Kate Winslett (Titanic).

Sigourney will play Jake and Ney'tiri's adopted Na'vi daughter called Kiri.

A Swift Death

CW's Tom Swift has been cancelled a little over half way through its short eight episode first season.

Deadline imply that the show's poor performance might not be the real reason it was dusted, citing "speculation" about the plans of CW's soon to be new owners for a more "wholesome" lineup.

Bethesda have released a Welcome to Redfall trailer for upcoming open world vampire shooter co-op Redfall.

We've been impressed by what we've seen of Redfall but coming just a few weeks after their extended gameplay trailer and developer interview, this little thing feels small.

Dune Delayed

Dune: Part Two's cinematic release has been delayed from October 17 to November 20, 2023 in the US with a similar delay expected here in Australia.

One Shirt to Rule Them All

Earlier in the week we saw stories circulating about Ryan Gosling wearing a Ncuti Gatwa Doctor Who t-shirt on a film set. While the shirt looked cool it didn't meet our threshold for news.

But has become so courtesy of that shirt, which isn't licensed merchandise and was initially removed from sale at the insistence of the BBC, returning for sale.

Shatner Owned by Fans

Crowdfunding, eg. through sites like Kickstarter who retain a cut of the funds raised, has has made a significant impact on the entertainment industry but our beloved Bill wants to take it further and also away from the middle man.

A new documentary about his career will be financed entirely by fans who will own a share of revenue made by the film.
