Kind of. Normally IGN are able to have an extended hands-on actually playing the game but haven't here.

Featuring new characters and gameplay mechanics.

Gamescom Awards

As is often the case in gaming but almost never in film and television, sci-fi did quite well in this year's Gamescom Awards.

Assuming you regard steampunk souls-like Lies of P to be sci-fi. Otherwise sci-fi bombed.

Gamescom Days 4 & 5

We didn't have an opportunity to attend to the mountain of Gamescom material yesterday so we're doing days 4 and 5 together.

Today we have more Lies of P and Moonbreaker, and new trailers for Lightyear Frontier and Miasma Chronicles.

Atomic Heart Combat

Whoopsie. We missed post-apocalyptic alternate Soviet history retrofuturistic action roleplaying game Atomic Heart's new combat trailer for Gamecom.

Which may be the highlight of all Gamescom reveals so far.

Gamescom Day 3

Gamescom's third day seems to have been relatively quiet with just a little bit more from High on Life.

There's also some new Gotham Knights footage. Even though that doesn't via Gamescom we're going to slap them together.

Gamescom Day 2

Instead of wall to wall trailers, today is more of a deep dive into a much smaller number of tiles.

Even so we'll deal with High on Life, Homeworld, Lies of P, Steelrising, The Callisto Protocol and Warhammer 40K: Darktide collectively.

Ghostbusters Game

No this one really is a Ghostbusters game. At Gamescom Illfonic have released a 3 minute gameplay trailer for Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed.

Showing both the perspective of ghosts and busters in this team player versus player title.

In a move which feels a bit like shouting into a storm, Netflix has released a trailer for a new mobile game Into the Dead 2: Unleashed - Ghostbusters, up against the opening night of this year's Gamescom.

On top of that, this is the single most confusing game trailer we've ever encountered.
