Too Much Star Wars

Star Wars being a somewhat biggish franchise, they often make multiple news ripples in any given week and this is just such a one.

There's new lots of new info about Star Wars Jedi: Survivor - combat stances, lightsaber combat and puzzle rooms. - a clip for The Mandalorian season 3 and Liam Neeson (Qui-Gon Jinn) has shared his opinion that there are too many Star Wars spinoffs.

Hot Extrapolations

Though we do our best to keep across upcoming sci-fi content, this one crept up on and took us by surprise - a big budget all star cast Apple TV anthology series casting us decades into the future to get up close and personal with climate change.

Extrapolations, written, directed and executive produced by Contagion writer Scott Z. Burns. Trailer available.

Coming and Going

Amazon have renewed virtual time travel series The Peripheral for a second season, saying pretty much nothing else on that point.

Finally pushed out of the airlock, however, is HBO's Avenue 5. Deadline reported the series probably finished in May last year well ahead of its season two screening.

Picard Comes Home

By home our title means Paramount+ rather than the vineyard. They've reached a deal with Amazon to both stream the third season of Picard which begins February 17.

Previous seasons will also be available on the same date and joined later this year by Star Trek: Lower Decks.

Extraordinary Renewal

Slightly preceding their January first season premiere, Disney renewed superhero-envy comedy series Extraordinary and they've now commenced shooting season two.

Despite our title pre screening renewals actually aren't uncommon but in this case their confidence bumps us off the fence.

Skull Crushed

Netflix's lingual plague series Hot Skull has been cancelled.

While we loved the concept and clever title the trailer was brimming over with over-used dialog and left us feeling cold.

Not Quite Sci-Fi

On a very slow beginning to the sci-fi news week, we'll detour very slightly.

Netflix have released a trailer for an upcoming animated comedy series called Agent Elvis which features a jetpacking Elvis on the Moon.

Looking to Tomorrow

Apple have released a first look for upcoming retro futuristic timeshare on the moon series Hello Tomorrow!

In this case that's a lot of chatting with cast plus a bit of new screen and behind the scenes footage.

Meet The Titan Crew

Second and upcoming third season showrunner for Star Trek: Picard Terry Matalas has tweeted deets on and pics of the bridge crew of the USS Titan.

There are many nostalgic notes - Ensign Sidney LaForge, Vulcan science officer Lieutenant T'Veen, Bajoran Lieutenant Matthew Arliss Mura at Tactical and second officer Seven.

The Rig Renewed

Midgard Times who routinely report series renewals ahead of official announcements courtesy of production scheduling or activity tell us that Amazon's The Rig is gearing up for a second season.

We are more than slightly surprised. It's not a great show. Average and unremarkable.
