Thirteenth Doctor Who actor Jodie Whittaker has landed her first post Tardis role and it's in our backyard. Or on our beaches, rather.
She has temporarily relocated down under to film the six part series One Night (not sci-fi) set against the New South Wales coastline. Filming has already commenced in the Sydney and Illawarra region.

While Everything Everywhere All at Once was tied second for number of nominations (10) at this year's British Academy Film Awards (BAFTAs), it won only Best Editing (Paul Rogers).
Science fiction's only other win came courtesy of Avatar: The Way of Water for Best Special Visual Effects (Richard Baneham, Daniel Barrett, Joe Letteri and Eric Saindon).

The past two weeks have been uncommonly quiet on the entertainment trailer and news fronts. We had put that down to Marvel (Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania) and Harry Potter (Hogwarts Legacy) but there was a third factor in the mix.
Folk were probably also holding back content for the IGN Fan Fest. Mostly gaming but also a dab of television and film.

Star Wars being a somewhat biggish franchise, they often make multiple news ripples in any given week and this is just such a one.
There's new lots of new info about Star Wars Jedi: Survivor - combat stances, lightsaber combat and puzzle rooms. - a clip for The Mandalorian season 3 and Liam Neeson (Qui-Gon Jinn) has shared his opinion that there are too many Star Wars spinoffs.

Without giving any reason - just a new poster - Marvel has delayed The Marvels, the film from July to November. In the US the 10th but an Australian date hasn't been announced yet.
Also only in the US at this point, Disney's Haunted Mansion film has been brought forward from August to fill the July slot.
