Lightyear Trailer

Pixar have released a trailer for their upcoming film Lightyear, which tells the story of the "real" Buzz Lightyear from the Toy Story films.

The "real" Buzz Lightyear being the fictional character which inspired the toy line which produced the Buzz we've seen previously.

Nominees for the 42nd Raspberry Awards have been announced and courtesy of two films, sci-fi has netted a slew of nominations.

Space.com published a potentially confusing piece regarding the fate of the long-ago announced plans for Roland Emmerich to reboot the Stargate films.

Post-apocalyptic zombie titles are so numerous and varied that many justifiably regard them as a genre unto themselves.

But they can also include sci-fi or fantasy elements as does the Australian made and set Wyrmwood films and TV series.

Warner Bros. Sued

Warner Bros. are being sued by Village Roadshow over the practice of simulatenous cinema and streaming release.

The Matrx Resurrections is a major point of contention.

Moonflop?

Early reviews for Moonfall indicated a relatively poor overall score from critics and now that the full weekend is behind us, we can look at the final score.

On Rotten Tomatoes it holds a 40% / 67% score from critics / audiences and on IMDb.com 5.3 / 10. Not awesome.

Foe Filming in Victoria

Amazon's sci-fi psychological thriller, Foe, has begun filming in Victoria.

It's a long way from being on our screens so don't go getting too excited. Except for the possibility of seeing places you know or perhaps even frequent in major titles like this.

After Yang

After Yang, last year's winner of the Alfred P Sloan prize (science or technology theme) at the Sundance Film Festival, has been given a (US) cinema and streaming release date of March 4 on Showtime, and a trailer.

We can't find any sign of it coming to Australian cinemas yet or any word of it on streaming services, but Paramount+ is where we'd look first for Showtime content.
